European Bittern / Butor Étoilé (Botaurus stellaris)

The European Bittern is a large heron-like bird with mottled brown and buff plumage, living in reedbeds of Europe and western Asia. The cobalt blue background adds depth and calm, allowing the bird to stand out in serene contrast.
Each painting is made from watercolour, sometimes with coloured pencils or gouache accents. The block coloured background is later painted with acrylic paint and is destined to add vibrant colour in our homes!
For all made-to-order, please expect 1 month delay, as I need to have multiple orders before sending to print.
