Common Loon / Plongeon imbrin (Gavia immer)

The Common Loon is a large waterbird with black-and-white checkered plumage in breeding season, found on northern lakes and coastal waters. The flat dark blue backdrop prevents distraction, keeping the focus on the bird.
Each painting is made from watercolour, sometimes with coloured pencils or gouache accents. The block coloured background is later painted with acrylic paint and is destined to add vibrant colour in our homes!
For all made-to-order, please expect 1 month delay, as I need to have multiple orders before sending to print.
